I give my word that no virgins were sacrificed, but somehow the Chihuahuan desert gods were appeased overnight. The wind came around 180 degrees and blew us 120 miles along US 90 to the thriving metropolis of Del Rio today, where I am reclined on my hotel bed tapping on the Droid and digesting more excellent Mexican food.
But breakfast and brunch were both at convenience stores, and the lunch menu at the only restaurant in Comstock, TX was a trifle limited. The result--vegetarianism yielded to the need for serious caloric intake--I ate Bacon, twice, and it was good, though I'm not ready to make flesh consumption a regular thing by any means.
