  1. Hi Kathy and Doug!

It's really fun to read your blog and look at your photos as you move along on your trip. It sounds like an amazing trip!

Your house is still standing and Ozzie has been provided with lots of loving attention. Kathaaron will head back to Wooster today.

Linda's parents, Pete and Sandy McCracken (who are super nice people)live in Las Cruces, NM and have a guest room in their very comfortable house. If you want a place to stay when you are there, let me know and I'll make the connection for you.

We had a week of temps in the low to mid 60's and lots of sunshine, crocuses, aconite and snowdrops blooming all over the place. Now it's 36. Supposed to get rain and snow showers today and tomorrow.

    HAPPY TRAILS!!
    Love, Kate

  2. Hi, guys,

Glad you made it to the canyon. I have been twice to the north rim, but not to the south. Did you get to see sunrise, too? It is truly an amazing place, so much to take in and so many changing colors.

I didn't see the MSU game -- didi you?? It sounded as though the "bad" Spartans showed up, and did just enough to win. They should beat Maryland if they are healthy, but that should be the end of it. I loved Notre Dame going down, and Cornell's win, too (they should have been seeded much higher than 12th - they played a real schedule and lost to Kansas by 5 -- in Lawrence.)

We will be providing a full report on the house after Kathaaron leave, which will be sometime this afternoon. They definitely enjoyed the house.

Will write more soon, and respond to your desert insights and observations.

  3. Hi Kathy, Doug & Cheryl
Thanks for letting us read your blog. I see you did reach the Canyon. It is a sight to see & that pictures don't show the full depth of color. You truly have to be there to see it.

We can't even imagine you biking in Glammis, the desert and even to the Grand Canyon. It brings back many wonderful memories. We visit Wickenburg most every time we go there & get something to eat at the "Chicken Soup" restaurant.

Mel & I sightsee on two wheels (motorcyle) or a truck. That's enough work for us.

You truly picked a good year. Friends have told us that there has been a lot of rain this year. Very unusual. The desert has to be alive with color about now.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.
    Mel and Mary (Cheryl's parents)
